1. Install/program a smart thermostat

Set at 68° or lower when you’re home to stay comfortable and cozy in the winter months. In the summer months, go for 78° or higher to stay cool and energy efficient. Find instant rebates at smudenergystore.com.

Save energy –
I try to use less energy, like powering down electronics when I’m not using them or turning off lights when I leave the room.

Shift energy usage – I use less energy during times when energy demand is the highest (5 – 8 p.m. weekdays).

Invest in smart energy – I take advantage of rebates and invest in energy-efficient products like programmable thermostats, LED lights, etc.

Join green programs – I enroll in programs that are good for the environment, like paperless billing and Greenergy®.

Get power from the sun – I have solar panels on my roof.

Drive electric – I own/lease an EV.

Other ways – I try to reduce my carbon footprint in other ways.
